I'm Zarna Shah, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in Psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families of varying cultural backgrounds. I maintain a private practice in Garden City, NY and have developed a relaxed environment promoting positive interactions for us to approach and achieve your goals comfortably.
With over 25 years of experience as a therapist, I specialize in counseling, behavioral modification, EMDR and cognitive behavioral therapy modalities. I work with a broad spectrum of clients from adolescents to late adulthood. My areas of expertise include working with interpersonal relationships, communication breakdowns, improving self-esteem and self-worth, anxiety and depression. I have trained in Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy to target issues with depression, self-confidence, and smoking cessation.
As a graduate from Adelphi University and New York University, I worked to obtain a masters in Clinical Social Work. I have since been invited to be a keynote speaker by The American Association of Psychiatrists of India (AAPI) where the Nav Nirman Foundation graciously awarded me with recognition for my commitment to helping the Asian American population.
Though our world is ever-changing and complex, my practice remains an interactive, compassionate, solution-focused and client-centered therapeutic environment. I approach our sessions with practical feedback to help you effectively address your personal life challenges. My mission is to integrate complimentary therapeutic modalities to tailor our sessions to your unique situations. This highly personalized approach is my focus and I hope to help you build on your strengths and attain the personal growth you’re looking for.
